It's a Navaho word that speaks of sun, hills and trees reflecting in water.

Will we see many animals on the ranch?

Shonto Ranch has some of the highest density of deer of any ranch in the state.  You will see 300 to 400 native and exotic deer in just one afternoon of driving around the Ranch.
